I adored the first half of this book, there were some moments where I genuinely laughed which given the subject matter is kinda hard to do well I think but yeah, loved the first half, then it seemed to drag a bit which I kinda get because it's almost slice of life-y but just wasn't my jam!

Aight so, imma pop off on this one, so bear with

This book is so disgustingly overhyped, and even more overwritten. I genuinely believe an editor could cut this down to half the size and it would still have the effect you'd want from it. There are passages and passages that are essentially just ?? Repeats of the same thing ??

The spookiest story in this was the second one - balloons? That was actually pretty decent when you got past the overwriting. The rest of the book I just found dull and honestly clichéd at times. Also - good lord - the narrators voice? As a child? Like this bitch was meant to be in kindergarten and spoke more eloquently than most adults I know, like I had to actively remind myself that the narrator was like 6 for most of the stories (though narrating it as an adult)

TL; Dr incredibly tedious and I really struggle to understand why it's got a like, nearly 4* rating :')

I really liked this book, v much understood the main character which is probably quite telling but idk man, just a nice lil book

I'm ngl, everything about this book screamed me liking it, but it fell so flat for me. I've really tried to pin point what I disliked about it so much but I can't put my finger on it exactly. I'm not sure if it was the writing style or what it escalated to, but yeah, just wasn't for me

Honestly this would be more like 3 or 4 but like past 50/60% of the way through I just found it so tedious and boring???? Idk man, maybe I was just after a fluffy romance and it didn't hit the spot but yeah. Bee was great though, 10/10 character

I genuinely loved this. V refreshing to see an actual fleshed out v morally grey female lead character tbh, especially in YA fantasy where they so often fall into the trap of being immediately great at everything they do :')

I enjoyed this, but I didn't *love* it. Also not much happens but I kinda dig that in a book tbf

NGL it was a little predictable and i got a bit bored 😬😬😬

Genuinely so good. Do I understand the ending? No I don't, but I just think it's kinda neat

I just. This book had such potential and it just ???? Gets so ludacrous?? Like ??????????
imagine fucking, being paid to bone a terrorist so he kills himself, and then getting hired by the President, and then name dropping ?? Elon musk???? I just ?????

Feels so flat. Quite amateurish. Really sad that it didn't explore the concept in any decent way tbh.
