I loved this book. The subjectivity of what it is to have full agency and personhood is told poignantly by Wardlow. Jumping the fence, negatively presenting one's agency and the plight of the passenger woman helped my poor Western mind understand New Guinean society and the role women play in social reproduction.

My face was covered with tears inbetween pages as Sugar dropped humility bombs all over my heart. How profound life is! I am amazed at how terribly I NEEDED this book to guide me and instill some lessons of radical empathy in my life. Her advice for people in their twenties I will take and I will revel in. Buy five books of poetry and read each three times... In them, there is truth.
Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair by Pablo Neruda

My heart is burning and I wish I was made of everything Pablo Neruda is made of. Chilean wildlife and reaching intensity that leaves one's soul flattened and then inflated again with glory. I feel so full of his mind's given glory. I am grateful and it hurts.
