'Ninth House' is a dark fantasy with a back and forth narration.
The story is quite complex, with a mystery that slowly unfolds as the story progresses. And even though the start of the book was kind of boring, the story quickly picked up and it got more twisty and rather dark.

"The Struggle" is the second book of the Vampire Diaries series and we get deeper into the sibling rivalry. I did enjoy it better compared to the first one, as there were more things happening, but still am not convinced about the romance.

"In the Company of Witches" is cozy mystery with a fantasy twist.
The book is full of whimsical moments, though I would have loved more magical moments. Still, the family dynamics were spot on and the mystery was well build and paced.

"The Graveyard Book" is a fantasy fairytale.
The book is whimsical and kind of spooky, but very satisfying as a story and adorable, especially when it comes to the characters.

"The Pumpkin Spice Cafe" is a cozy small town romance.
The book is loaded with fall vibes and uses all the fall cliches as well as romantic tropes. Thus, the romance is predictable and cheesy, but there are some interesting moments. Also, the characters were so full of insecurities, especially the male lead, that it got tiring after a while. In addition, most of the book's plot is about interrupted steamy moments, which also get tiring. But, the vibes were there...

"The Thirteenth Child" is a fantasy, gothic tale with a dark, fairytale atmosphere that only Erin Craig can provide.
Just like her previous books, The Thirteenth Child is a magical journey with beautiful descriptions and a smooth pace. The story feels like an old fairytale, though the narration doesn't follow the pattern. With a nice wrap-up in the end, but a predictable romance, the plot has many twists and turns and many interesting characters to boot.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving

"The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" is a dark and creepy novella about the headless rider who terrorized the community of Sleepy Hollow.
It is dark and atmospheric and I enjoyed the pace of it and how the story was handled.

The Witchwood Knot by Olivia Atwater

"The Witchwood Knot" is the first book of the Victorian Faerie Tales and it is in the same universe as the "Half a Soul" series. Actually, there were some details and names mentioned from that previous series, so I suggest reading that one first, even though this one has a completely different mood.
That said, the story was enjoyable, dark, and kind of creepy at times. Also, the characters were adorable and funny.

"I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons" is a fantasy fairy tale story with a humourous mood.
The story is enjoyable and entertaining, though, it was a bit too fast paced and, therefore, the story didn't develop smoothly.
But, overall, it was a nice read and the narrator did a good job.

"Tom Lake" is a family drama with some mystery when it comes to the mother's love life.
The book has a nice feel to it, a bit nostalgic and very summery.
However, I can't say that the story feels innovative and original and that I haven't read something like that before. That is why, the twists were predictable and the story got boring quickly. However, I did enjoy the final chapters.
Also, the back and forth was confusing and I was often lost as to what timeline I was reading.
