I read this while I was at the Outer Banks for the first time. It was a lovely collection of spooky tales that helped me feel connected to where I was. There's a ghost story anywhere you go in that area! I had heard a lot of pirate ghost stories previously, but I didn't know there were so many beach ghosts. Fun and spooky read with a few stories that have stuck with me.

I really enjoyed the stories but the first part of the book was a little hard to get through. I listened to an audiobook version so I was able to breeze past that quickly, though I might have given up if I was reading print. There are probably more engaging yokai books if you're looking for something fun.
