I love Shanora Williams' stories - you'll never be disappointed. That’s for sure!

The story was exciting and totally captivated me. I could really see myself in the cabin and helping Rose to find her friend.

The commentary about domestic violence etc. was really well used. “ 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧.This sentence will probably stay in my memory for a long time - really very well incorporated.

For me personally the many many characters were a bit annoying – there were just too many!

The twist at the end was good too - a bit action-packed - but still good.

The blurb for the book sounded very exciting but I never thought it would be THAT exciting.

Exciting from the very first page to the very last. No unnecessary length, no boring characters and the twist at the end was *chef's kiss* my jaw dropped, litteraly..even though I guessed one of them, hehe.

I couldn't and didn't want to put the book down and will look for the author and other books by him immediately after my review! This was definitely not my last by him.

My first highlight for 2025 ✨

Lahme Motivationssprüche die man überall schon tausendmal gelesen hat. Für den einen motivierend - für mich eher nervig und "cringe"

Schade, war leider nichts für mich. Kann mir aber dennoch gut vorstellen das es für viele ein guter Motivationsschub sein kann.

Faith Gardner has become one of my favorite authors in a very short time and of course I had to read her latest book immediately!

The story is excitingly written as always, no unnecessary length or "empty" pages that slow down the whole story. The characters were extremely well developed and I felt for each and every one of them! Except for Simon, lol.

(The spice that was included was just right and the lovestory was perfect)

The ending wasn't as twisty as in her previous books, but I still had a really really good time and couldn't put it down! I'm already waiting for her next book. :p

In diesem kurzen Buch geht es um die Aufzucht zweier Waisenkolibris – welche doch komplexer ist als viele denken.

Ich wusste vorher schon einiges über Kolibris, da mich diese kleinen Vögel einfach begeistern, daher waren die Informationen nichts neues für mich. Auch kamen hier ein paar Wiederholungen vor, die mich doch etwas gestört haben.

Das Buch legt aber zb auch den Schwerpunkt auf die problematische Beziehung der Menschheit zur Umwelt da, welche den Lebensraum des Kolibris negativ beeinflusst. Die Autorin gibt dem Leser viele Tipps wie man in seinem Garten (eher in Süd-und Nordamerika und in der Karibik) den Lebensraum für den Kolibri aber auch für andere Lebewesen etwas „schmackhafter“ gestalten kann.

Ein kurzes & nettes Buch, welches mich aber dennoch nicht ganz abgeholt hat, da es mir zu monoton und zu kurz war. Für zwischendurch, und um ein wenig über die kleinen Vögel zu lernen, ist es aber dennoch ein guter Anfang und sehr lesenswert!
