The writing was pretty good, although I would've preferred to listen to the audiobook version of this novel as I enjoyed the first one.

Didn't expect the "second male lead" to win, but that seems a fairly common trend, especially for books inspired by Chinese webnovel fiction.

Overall, a good read. 4/5

Okay, as a hater at heart, I wouldn't say I like headstrong characters too much, especially when they barge into things they don't know about. (And that's not because I relate a little much to that trait :x)

Nevertheless, the world-building was alright, and the action was... well, there. Most of the action scenes seemed to take a backseat in favor of other things, such as the impossible love triangle with the three main characters.

I'm not a fan of love triangles, as it makes things too messy, in my opinion.

Nevertheless, I would highly recommend the audiobook version of this book because the reader did a great job. 3.75/ 5

This book was giant, and it was terrific.

Did I get annoyed by some characters? Yeah.

Did I still have a good time? Absolutely.

Loved Ead and that old gay scientist guy.

Overall? 4/5

What can I say? It's gay, and it's Asian fantasy.

The world-building was excellent; however, I was more interested in the side characters than the central pairing. Maybe that will change the more I read this series.

It was okay, although I wasn't sure what was going on due to how short this book was. There were huge gaps of conflict and problems that were resolved in a satisfying manner.

Another book I was held at gun point to read.

The only thing I could remember from this book was talking plants and an awkward threesome.

1/5 for talking plants.

I'll never get the time back from reading this story. Unfortunately, as my book club chose this book, I was forced to read this.

Very, very loose world-building. Unlikeable characters and way too many sex jokes to take this seriously. Call me a prude; I don't care, none of them were tasteful.

Also, I'm curious to know just how good that dick and pussy were that had these two practically had orgasms from just brushing each other's hands? Now that's some cursed magic there.

1/5. I would give lower stars if possible.
