A complex YA novel that more closely examines two differing ideologies regarding the Force, whilst providing a plot and characters I was interested in.

What you have here is more or less a standard “powder keg” type story, where the setup is provided and it’s only a matter of time before plotlines coalesce and clash together. What really surprised me here though, and why this book is ranking high, is the well drawn characters and plot turns I did not expect whatsoever. 

Only real complaint is that the finale is a bit abrupt and not all questions I had were properly answered here (and having read a bit of Convergence and some of Battle of Jedha, I’m going to be left wanting until reading Path of Vengeance). Other than that, great book.
