TLDR: If you like gay hockey romance, you will like this.

This is a friends to lovers gay hockey romance. And for me that's always going to be a win. I love friends to lovers. I love hockey. This was really solid. It was pretty sexy, definitely not a closed door romance. I didn't think it was excessive. It all fits with the story. The characters and their bond was truly lovely. It was just sweet. It was a sweet story and I was already thinking about rereading it before I had even finished it. Lots of LGBTQ rep in this book. There was also actual hockey in this hockey romance.

TLDR: solid gay hockey romance, light on the drama

This book was really very safe. There was no huge conflict. There were no moments where you were yelling at the characters asking them what they were doing. It was safe. It was nice. And it had a lot of hockey. Lighter on the spice I would say than the first book but certainly not a closed door romance. The characters were likable and the romance was nice.

TLDR: Solid read. Hurt/comfort through and through.

This is a gay hockey romance enemies to lovers style. Two people figuring out how to support each other. Really dark events and themes. Read your trigger warnings if you need to. Lots of sex scenes. Not for a closed door reader. Actual hockey in the hockey romance. Overall I felt it was a very nice story.

TLDR: Two weirdos make each other happy.

I love everything Rachel Reid has written and this is no exception. The characters in this book are quirky and sweet. Their relationship is adorable. Friends to lovers vibes with the grumpy/sunshine troupe. It's just a solid read that will leave you with good feelings. And I highly recommend it.
