TLDR: Hot gay daddies with anxiety
This is a gay, single dad romance. I will not call it a holiday romance. It covers almost an entire year and there isn't a lot of focus on the holidays. Maybe the author used up all her holiday spirit on the first book (which is totally fair because that's the only (or one of the only) holiday romances that I have a 5/5

TLDR: This is a work place, boss/employee erotic novella.
I thing I love about erotica is that it's very self-explanatory. When I say boss/employee erotica you know what you're getting. You're getting hot dom, bend you over a desk sex. And that's exactly what this book gives you. There is also a storyline that is believable. But does the storyline really matter? No, no it does not. Because this is erotica. But even though it doesn't matter I suppose I should comment on the storyline because the author put effort into that and it was believable. At no point did I giggle and go "sure, sure". Well except for the kegel balls at the party. Nobody does that right? Has anybody ever held something up their vagina while in public, let alone at a fancy party? If you're brave enough let me know, please satisfy my curiosity.

TLDR: Fast read.
This is a gay holiday romance that I would also put in the military romance category. It was good. And I enjoyed it. And that's really all I can think to say. It was such a fast read. This is a normal length book but it went by so fast. This had elements of self-discovery, growth, understanding lingering grief, and of course romance. This is a brother's best friend trope. Which I can't say I feel one way or the other about. There was no touching on difficulties for LGBTQ people in the military. This was almost an idealistic representation of the world where it wasn't discussed because it didn't matter. If you like gay romance and are trying to get one more book in before the end of the year, this is a good option.

TLDR: Full range of emotions in this one.
I laughed. I cried. I worried. I was irritated. I was happy. This book really has it all. Full range of emotions. I would put this in the category of a fantasy novel with a heavy romance plot, as there was a lot going on besides the romance aspect. Our main romance in this book is MM. The book was written in a very stylized manner which may bug some people. I personally loved the feel that it gave to the whole book. This is a coming of age story. We follow the main character through the important parts of his life up until he's 23. Solid found family in this. You will feel feelings. Tears are a solid possibility. This book is intended for adults.

TLDR: This novella is a beautiful story.
This story is sad, and beautiful, and sweet, and wonderful. The historic difficulties (injustices) associated with being a gay man is a huge theme in this story. This gives an overall sad caste to the entire thing. Despite the awful prejudice and danger our main characters experience just from being themselves, they find beauty and friendship. At times I did have the thought that the magic portion of this novella was completely unnecessary but ultimately it didn't detract from the story and did add a scene or two that I would have missed.

TLDR: Quick short story about meeting the parents.
This short story is quick and cute so I don't have a lot to say. Guy brings his boyfriend home to meet the parents. Awkwardness ensues. The author actually does a good job of getting the reader to know and invest in the characters in a very short amount of time.
