Rating: 5/5 - I've read this book three times. I will read it again many more times.

TLDR: Read these books.

I only give things five stars that I know I will reread. I am currently on my second read through of the series. I read the series for the first time last week. The stories are phenomenal. And the characters are even better. You are going to love Cooper and Oliver. Trust me. Just read the series.

I loved this book. The mystery. The sexual tension. The suspense that wasn't so scary I wanted to cover my eyes but still had me wanting to skip ahead to find out what the f*** is going on. Really loved this book to the point where I wanted to buy a physical copy but they don't exist. So I am going to need enough people to read these to make a printing happen.

TLDR: Just read this series. You won't regret it.

From the opening scene of this book you're engaged. Charlie Adhara has a fabulous way of making the route of characters from A to b almost better than the destination. I love the blossoming romance between Cooper and Oliver. I love that it's not perfect. They're going through growing pains I'm working through it together whilst still being sassy and delightful. And I just can't get enough.

I am in love with this couple and these books. I love the paranormal aspect. I love the fabulous insight on recognizing marginalized people. I love the quip-iness. This author has more delightful one-liners or wonderful descriptive sentences than the vast majority of books that I read and would still recommend to people. I'm obsessed. I love these books so much. I was devastated to discover that they are not available in physical form. To the point that I tracked down the author on Instagram and asked how I could support making that happen. If you are comfortable with gay romance, like paranormal anything and procedural anything these books will work for you. It's not often (I don't think) that the procedural crime drama and paranormal sector overlap but these books did it. And did it really well.

The main characters in this book are an absolute delight. Eli is just such a fun engaging character with quips for days (I am a sucker for quips). While I ultimately enjoyed the Big Bad Wild series by Adhara more this was still a very enjoyable read. If you like MM shifter romance, you will enjoy this book.

P.S. Read the Big Bad Wolf series. You won't regret it.
