So glad Charlie got his happy ending, but it is quite the angsty journey to get there. I LOVED getting to see more of Sam and Percy’s journey, meeting and loving Nan, and understanding the complexities of losing her husband and best friend. I adored Alice, the way she loved everyone with all she had, but finally found her voice and strength. She was finally a part of life instead of capturing it. I only wish I could see more of their HEA.

This was my first Carley Fortune read and it will not be my last. Her writing style pulled me in immediately. I felt like I was at the lake witnessing the relationship of Adam and Percy. This is the slowest of slow burns, with youth, insecurities, family dynamics, and messy communication led to a betrayal that almost cost what was destined to be to end before it ever had a true chance to start.
