Meh. I think this is my lowest-rated Tahereh Mafi book. It takes place over a few days, kind of slow and boring. It kind of just dragged along. I didn't really feel strongly either way about things.
I really liked the first book so I had high hopes going in. I will obviously continue reading the series because Tahereh is incredible! Just not my favorite book of hers.

I got this book as an easter gift one year, I remember I read it from cover to cover that day.
It was all over the place, she is a child who yes, had done a bunch of stuff, but why are you writing a book at that age? It just felt so forced and honestly looking back on it, my heart goes to her because it was probably a contractual thing for her parents to make more money off of her :(

I didn’t know what to expect going in, but this was just adorable and the end had me kicking my feet and smiling! I made a goal to myself that I would read at least one holiday book this month and damn I chose a good one. It was cliche and cheesy at times but I ate it all up! Absolutely adorable!

I ate this UP! The character development was *chefs kiss*. The plot? PRECIOUS! I honestly could have finished this book in a single day if it wasn’t for school. Every time I put the book down I physically cringed and thought about it until I could pick it up again. I could’ve gone for more angst at the end if you know what I mean, but overall it was an adorable and fun read!

This was extremely hot. I loved this book. It was such a quick read.
I read it on my phone. The smut was great, but also I really felt connected to the main characters. I feel like so many authors write smutty books with no real plot all the time (Not a bad thing, but not really my vibe) and to be honest based on what I had read about the book, that's what I thought I was getting into. But no, I want to make playlists of their relationship and I want more content! I want to watch them live their beautiful domestic day-to-day life.

YES YES YES! Reading this felt like watching Agents of SHIELD or another Marvel show but in the realm of fantasy (Yes I know Marvel is technically fantasy/science fiction), scratch that, this was a Marvel universe made by Sarah J Maas. Two of my favorite things here people!
To the root of it, this is a story of a young woman dealing with the grief of a close friend during a vulnerable time of life. The best parts of this book were part 3 and 4. The first two parts were good and still managed to keep me hooked, its just the world building had to be done and honestly, props to her for doing it in such a short amount of time. If I were trying to write out the intricate and expansive world that this takes place in, I would be yapping for the length of the entire series just trying to make myself understand the rules of the world. Anyways, parts 3 and 4 were the moments I couldn’t put the book down. The angst and hurt/comfort were just incredible.
To sum it up in even less words…. a girl, her cat, and her dead best friend are unstoppable. A sentence I find myself relating to on the rare occasion I have an ounce of confidence in my bones. ANYWAYS, this book was very good. Sarah J Maas knows how to punch me in the gut and somehow make it so I’m the one thanking her for doing so. I am both terrified and excited to read the second book.
Blah blah blah, thanks for reading my yapping
