“He’s not just kinda hot, he’s Bunsen-burner-blue-flame hot.”

This is my first ever Helena Hunting book so yes, I didn’t read the first book, When Sparks Fly (not yet, at least), which is about Avery, the eldest sister. So, I definitely didn’t know how it’s gonna be like.

The verdict? I liked it!

It’s lighthearted and funny but with just a bit of conflict and I think that’s great. It’s what I currently need so I really enjoyed reading this. There were moments where I giggled and moments which got me exclaiming “OMG!”

I loved that there’s chemistry between London and Jackson. That moment when they met again was done so well! I could literally imagine it and just thinking about what the people around them were (probably) thinking makes me laugh. Oh Mitchell!

Easily digestible and fun. Characters are also very easy to like and there wasn’t one where I felt I need to have them deleted from the book. There is heat🔥 but not too over the top.

Overall, it is a great book to read after being at work all day.

THIS BOOK👏👏👏
I think the best way to describe this novel is BEAUTIFUL. It was a very heartwarming read and it was so easy to fall in love with the characters. Honestly, I almost cried.
I just loved how everyone connected, became each other's support, and healed together.

It talked about a lot of difficult issues but it was done in a way that wouldn't wear you out (at least for me). It was lighthearted but serious.
Nick Podehl did an AMAZING job narrating this.

Epilogue is one of the best I've ever read.
There are books that needs to be read and this is one of those books.

To Lucas, Zoe, Connor, and Roy: I'm so glad I met you.

I found it very slow-paced and not the good kind. For a book this size, I wouldn't mind spending time reading about the world building and/or the development of the characters if it was written in a way that I find enjoyable. I didn't care for most of the characters and to be honest, I can't even remember most of them even when I was reading the book. I did enjoy the times Ileth spent interacting with the dragons but overall, it was a frustrating read.

Unfortunately, I won't be continuing with the series.
