I have to be honest, this book wasn't really my jam... I never really liked mystery - thriller - who done it kind of books, but it still sounded pretty good and once I got the book, I immediately gave it a go.
Even though it's not really my thing, there were Moments the book had me hooked for a while. And at other moments, it completely lost me and I had to plow through to get to the better stuff again.
However, I am sure if mystery thriller with a touch of paranormal is your thing, this is gonna be a BANGER, because the story itself was well thought out, very well executed and just all in all an interesting topic!
I also have to add I liked the MMC, but not so much the FMC. I think because I could relate to the MMC's story and issues way more than I could the FMC.
But, like I said. It's a great story and well written, just sadly, it wasn't my thing. Still gave it 3,5 stars though!
This book was near perfect for me! The only reason why it didn't get 5 stars, was because it was predictable by the end. But it was through and through a great horror story. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I found myself really liking the writing style of Ania. The descriptions of what is happening, what everyone sees (or think they are seeing) and everything is amazing. It's perfectly balanced between knowing enough to scare you but not getting too much info that it gets you out of the moment.
In my opinion, everyone also reacted accordingly towards certain situations. No "overly stupid" decisions, no extreme measures to things, no "this makes zero sense" moments. It was a great story and I cannot say anything truly bad about it.
I am sure to check out some of her other works. I already got some great recommendations!

Exhumed by S.J. Patrick was absolutely amazing! He takes a unique turn on vampires and spins an incredible story around it.
The facts that you get multiple views of all people involved was a great experience. I thought it might get confusing while in reality, it made stuff so much more clear!
This is also not a story with lovely vampires that keep their humanity and try to live amongst people. These are creatures with barely any humanity left in them. They kill, they torture and only have eye for their own existence. They know no guilt or sorrow and they just go for the kill when they can.
Except for David that is! He desperately tries to cling to his humanity the moment he figures out he is changing and it makes it all so much more interesting.
All in all, I LOVED this book and I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel! This is an ideal book if you are looking for a horror Story that features the monstrous kind of vampires!

First thing I want to say is, before starting this series, please read trigger warnings, because there are some truly brutal scenes in this book.
That being said, I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series. Gild is everything I want in a fantasy book. A lot of fantasy with a dash of gore and spice.
Auren has a special place in my heart and I really feel for her. She is a great MC and very believable. Not too whiny, not too brutal, definitely has her flaws (impulsive is definitely one of them) and the fact she has to deal with so much backlash because she is different really makes her a lovable character.
The story itself is also so well written! I love this writing style! Everything is described in enough detail to form an idea, but not painstakingly much that it gets tedious and I definitely loved the Fire Claws, they really sounded freaking badass! The world building was also amazing.
All in all, I can't wait to continue reading this series! Thank you @ravenkennedybooks for writing this masterpiece ❤️

I don't think I ever read a book as fast as this one. I am a very slow reader, but I read this book in 2 days. It was fenomenaal and I loved every second of it!
This was absolutely a rollercoaster of a book and even though you can pretty much guess what is happening since the middle of the book, going through it and reading it as it happens makes it absolutely horrifying.
There is one thing that really bothered me about this book though and I tried to go around it, but I couldn't at some times, but the things the MC did as a very young kid, were just not believable. A kid of 5 years old does not think or react as the kid in this book did and it made some things hard to receive in my mind.
But the story and the relationships and the ending were AMAZING! Great read non the less!
