Loved the vibe and that it was written in “we” - made me think of how you and your friends were basically always talking and thinking in we statements at that age. But wasn’t sure what was happening half of the time.

Entertaining but the characters didn’t act like they were in their late 30s and early 40s and the ending felt like the ending of a wattpad story I read when I was 13. Also this is just way to long - it even felt long as an ebook.

I loved the beginning of this book, the explanation of how waking up feels like was so interesting and kinda spot on. This was a good way of checking out if I like Osamu Dazai's writing, so I'm definitly going to read more by him in the near future.

Though I have to say, the female protagonist thinking women are gross makes this not perfect, it screams male author writing women and I hate to see it every time. The slight misogyny... happens way too often.

I didn‘t really enjoy reading this but it‘s been a year and I still think about it on a regular basis which makes me think I should reread it.

Also the part were he explains why he calls the sea la mar instead of el mar like the younger men, lives rent free in my head. I mean I’m even considering getting a tattoo related to that quote.
