✨ Luella spent her whole life training in herbology so she could serve as the healer in her village. Eldas, the Elf King, spent over a year waiting to claim the human woman whose magic will save his kingdom. Can they work together to save both of their homelands?

What I loved:
✨ Enemies to partners to lovers
✨ Green magic, herbalism, kitchen witch vibes
✨ Luella is determined, headstrong, and curious. Eldas is cold, rigid, and traditional - their personalities worked well together! I liked the way she softens him and he helps build her confidence.

What didn’t work for me:
✨ Fade to black romance 😭😭 I was honestly devastated after that much build up.
✨ The side stories involving his brothers didn’t do much for me and felt unresolved.

You will love this if you like fantasy with a romantic subplot, descriptions of green magic that will inspire you to dig a garden, and sexy smoldering elf kings.

Ultimately I enjoyed the book and I am excited to continue with the rest of the series!

I may never recover from the relentless emotional gut-punches the last 100 pages delivered, but I’ll be taking off work when the 3rd book comes out.
