So much of this resonates so deeply. Beautiful reflections on the way that faith and sexuality intersect. Some say that some of the discussion of the prophets was blasphemous, so maybe avoid this if you aren't open to other interpretations of Quranic texts.

Some good reflections on the topic of Capital Punishment, but the author tended to sway between what felt like sharing his own opinions, and trying not to at the same time. The arguments found in this book are very basic if you've made any attempts to research the arguments for and against Capital Punishment before, but the insight from someone so involved in the system made up for that. The authors reflections from his own point of view makes it easier to understand why either sides position on the issue might be what it is.

what a remarkable waste of time. just because a piece of writing is skilled or introspective and old enough to be considered a classic does not mean that its ideas are, or have ever been, of quality. the literature itself even when you discard the substandard ideas lack in anything that make it worthwhile to read. there are some enjoyable lines sprinkled throughout, which is the only reason I'd give this even a ΒΌ star rating, but they are few and far between.

While this book did have some meaningful insights dispersed throughout, it felt very droning and repetitive. The attempts at explaining a complicated relationship between a mother and child will always come down to the individual in the end, but here the large excerpts of podcasts and constant over explaining of small behaviours made it seem a bit dulled down from the nuances in the reality of a relationship like this.
