It's really a sweet book, maybe a little repetitive and the plot is quite simple, but it's relaxing and would make well as a gift plus it's wlw!!

there is a palpable improval from eye of the world, the book feels more coherent and better paced
the Seanchan do feel slightly random, and also heavy but God was I dying to know what would happen in each chapter

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

solid ya crime - not too unpredictable, but I was hooked on quickly
I'm not a super fan of Pipa (I mean, an allegedly intelligent character barging into the house of a drug dealer and not one but two murder suspects....) but she's definitely not the worst. I'm kind of bummed the romance wasn't more slowburny (I would've liked it more if Pip and Ravi got together in book 2 instead of off screen) but whatever

Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
The concept was interesting but it was more romancey than spooky - not bad, just not my kind of thing

I've had a strong feeling of deja-vu all throughout the 400 something pages of the book (I still hadn't identified what book I'm reminded of; I'll get back to you if I do)
I was hooked fast and almost through the entire book - I think the ending is okay but I was hoping for some twist. I guess that's not the point though; it's more about abusers protecting each other and boys will be boys mentality and also true crime a little bit.
Although I can't stop feeling like this isn't the first book I've read that takes on true crime and also has the facet of a man (Jerome) being wrongfully accused of abuse by a woman. It's not central to the story but it's there; it doesn't feel necessary to me personally.

grrm's humor definitely shines in a short form, these are a really cute addition to canon (but I think you can also read them on your own)
