I loved everything about this book. This is a story that will stay with you for a long time if not forever. It was such a pleasure to read, very smooth writing and I was never bored. I highly recommend!

Loved every second of this book! It was nice to finally read something that had "little 'surprises' everywhere" and was not predictable. I just wish the story would continue because I'm really gonna miss these people.

A quick & easy, delightful read. Characters were easily relatable and very charming. Many passages gave me pause for thought about life and the passage of time. I truly enjoyed this.

Wow. Just wow. This is my first Kate Quinn read and it won't be my last. What a talent and story teller. She has definitely mastered the art of historical fiction, with the right balance of history vs a splash of fiction to fill in the blanks. I definitely recommend this read. What a fabulous story of female empowerment.

I like this. It was very face paced and the characters were wonderful. It was not what I expected (in fact I enjoyed it more) and I'm excited for the next one.

This was ok. The story moved quick at the start and the characters are all great. But then it started to drag and I felt like "ok can we just get on with this please"? Then it picked up and started to move quick again and then BAM "the end". The end felt very rushed and not satisfying at all. It felt like the author was tired of writing this story and just wanted to conclude it to move onto something else and tried to tie everything up real neat with a pretty bow and call it a done deal. Which is too bad because the premise of the story is awesome and the characters were so wonderful. I really wanted the ended to be more meaningful in some way and I felt like there was no effort there.

I loved the characters. You don't get more real than these people. And I pretty much love any historical fiction. When the plot seems to be dull at least the history part keeps me going. I just felt this book could have had a bit more ... I don't know. Something just a "bit more". I felt like I was waiting for some big reveal or twist that never happened. This is basically just a story (but a good one) that puts into place another piece of the puzzle for me about the Second World War.

This is my second read by this author. Again it feels like another allegory and I'm not disappointed by that. I usually don't like to be tricked. But who doesn't want to hear that our human existence is better than that of the "perfect" alien race with no death or grief? I wasn't sure what I was reading at first. An alien possessing a human for the purpose of halting scientific/human progression? Ummmm weird. But what a beautiful story this turned out to be. Thank you Matt!

What a ride! But oh my, I really want to read more about Art3mis and Parzival. I don't want their story to end!
