Historical fiction meets Rosemary’s baby! We go back to 1915, and follow Adelaide Henry, a woman with a heavy burden literally and emotionally, she keeps a locked steamer trunk hiding a monstrous secret. Escaping the ghosts of her past, Adelaide heads to the remote frontier of Montana to start anew as a homesteader. But being alone and secluded doesn’t mean she’s safe.

This story had supernatural suspense, a terrifying revelation and tenderness you don’t expect. Adelaide battles isolation, prejudice, and a grueling landscape. She has to face the horror she’s keeping secret and the consequences she’s dragging behind her.

The author did a great job of covering themes of guilt, survival, and the fierce resilience of women forging their place in an unforgiving world.

The book isn’t the  frontier story you’d expect. It’s dark with rich characters and a delicious plot twist.

This was better than page 6 drama. An emotionally layered novel that pulling you into the glittering and gritty world of old Hollywood. Evelyn Hugo, you love her, hate her and admire her all at once.

Evelyn Hugo is an enigmatic, fiercely ambitious actress telling her story as only she can. This is a sweeping journey through fame, sacrifice, and hidden truths. Evelyn hires  Monique Grant, a struggling journalist, to write her life story, it becomes clear this isn’t just a career opportunity it’s personal.

Evelyn has secrets, what was behind her seven marriages who was her true love? As the story dismisses the polished veneer of celebrity to explore themes of identity, power, and the cost of living authentically.

What is the connection between Evelyn and Monique? Why was an unknown chosen to tell this poignant and scandalous story? The ties deepens with each chapter, leading to a twist that reframes the entire narrative in a haunting light.

Blending glitz with gut-wrenching honesty, this novel is as much about reinvention and resilience as it is about love and legacy. It’s a page-turner with heart, perfect if you love character-driven drama with a touch of mystery.

This was a wild ride. Imagine after COVID the remaining survivors were all housed in specialized places, living in pods, no access to the outside world for fear of imminent death…

Welcome to The Palace!

The Palace provides everything you need to live, but you’re not allowed to leave. The ways of old world and free will are over. New   Indoctrinations to change old thinking, population control through regulation and processes not love and relationships.

This is a gripping dystopian thriller. I was hooked  from the first page.

What does a post-pandemic world look?

We follow Jacob, a survivor grappling with grief, isolation, and the haunting truth behind The Palace. Controlled by The Order, it’s perfection or so it seems.

Jacob begins to question things and the slowly unraveling of the truth delivers constant tension and thought-provoking twists.

If you’re a fan of dark, dystopian narratives with layers of mystery and social commentary, this one’s worth the read.

This is a multi POV fast paced read with twist and turns you may not see coming.

Please check triggering warnings as parts of this story are graphic and involve extremely disturbing scenes and topics.

This is Soledad’s journey of self discovery and self-love. After coming out of a toxic and unfulfilling, marriage Soledad has to find a way to navigate through her grief her pain the life she thought she knew, and the man who betrayed her. Trying to peace together a life to protect her heart and her children, while still finding joy.

Being married to a narcissist, a cheater and a criminal takes a toll providing her a path to finding herself. This was a beautifully written story of a woman’s journey after heartbreak.

Soledad embarks on a journey of dating herself while figuring out what her purpose and passions are she becomes a social media sensation and in the process, discovers her value self-worth and a new love.

The most poignant part of this book is her discovery that she can be in love with herself and still set boundaries and accept love from someone else without diminishing who she is as a woman as a mother and as a provider.

A must read book for any woman who’s ever been through a break up and needed inspiration to start a new.

Absolute five star read and I highly recommend to anybody who’s looking for a great romance, beautiful writing and a beautiful story of self reflection and a second chance at love, on your own terms.

This book was a powerful and emotionally charged read. The way in which this book deals with grief loss second chances and discovering a stronger more capable, you after tragedy and loss was so profound.

The story of follows Yasmen who’s putting the pieces of her life back together after suffering a great loss, divorcing her husband and trying to navigate grief. Her struggles with depression and a profound sense of guilt was so well described and thought out that you can’t help. Just feel like she’s a friend you’re concerned for.

The friendship circle that she’s built with other strong women Soledad and Hendrix is the stuff friendships should be made of and everything that we wish we could have in our real lives. No judgment, no criticism just concern and care and a rock solid understanding that they will always be there for each other. A bond stronger than sisters.

Kennedy Ryan is a fantastic writer able to capture moments in time that we have all felt or feel a sense of kinship with sadness, grief loss, misunderstanding mistakes we so desperately wish to correct, but don’t always know the right course of action to take.

A stand out portion of the book deals with mental health and therapy and the stigma that surrounds therapy, especially for black men. Leaning into the concept, that therapy is not something you do out of weakness, but something you do out of strength to better understand and process your emotions and help you see the bigger picture. Providing guidance and self reflection on the things that shape us to become who we are not only as people, but as adults.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone who loves a good heartfelt story a second chance that love captured in the most beautiful and profound way.

Absolutely a five star read.

What do you do when you’re trying to navigate the past alongside someone who has a faulty memory due to Alzheimer’s disease?

Are their recollections more prevalent than your own?  This was an emotional roller coaster and definitely bakes the question. What would you do? Running from the past and secrets all while trying to keep yourself and your family safe.

This was a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more by this author..
