Amazing. I could not put this book down. The second I read the first page, I was hooked.
This book really shows you how living as a Black woman in the twentieth century was; it’s horrific how normal child brides and arranged marriages were. How woman weren’t deemed little more than pets and objects.
It also touches up on how white people have always taken what they wanted, how racism and misogyny was so ingrained it was assumed and normal. How Black people had and continue to fight to live, to be deemed as human.

It was a riveting read from start to finish, and i hope everyone else who hasn’t read it yet, reads it.

This is a book I've been wanting to read for a long time. I fell in love with the cover and the blurb.
I really enjoyed this book. It's slightly confusing, and doesn't explain a whole lot in the beginning, but over the story you learn more. I love the worlds, the way every version is slightly different.
I enjoyed the complexity of the characters - they had times where you hated some of them, and then they would do something human, something real, and you'd get a whiplash from the emotion change. And I liked how they had their moments for all the characters, and some weren't as black and white as they seemed.
The ending was both frustrating and not. I love how Cara found herself again, I love how some things played out, but in other ways it didn't fulfill the story.
Cara and Dell made me really happy with their ending though.

Come on. COME ON.

I don't know what to say, honestly. It was better than the first book.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
I didn't like the writing, and every day I avoided reading it.
It wasn't the Mafia style I was looking for.
And I didn't particularly like Cole in this specific book.
And this man literally cheated on Zeke. There was more that bugged me in the wrong way.

This was really good.
Oraya and Raihn have so much chemistry together, and they matched, like two puzzle pieces.
And the way this man is so down bad for her 😫

I enjoyed this book. It was a light and easy read that you could probably read in one sitting.
Kate and August were very cute together, and I like the slow burn.
