Amazing! Every single star I can give it and a hundred more! I will never emotionally or mentally recover from this book! I need book 2 and 3 and however many there are going to be as soon as possible because I love these characters so much!
Zetian might be my favorite character of all time? I have never been so delighted and so excited about everything a character does. I was rooting for her all the way and she always delivered better than I could have in any way dreamed or anticipated.
This book is the revenge fantasy of my dreams and I could not love it more! 

Xiran Jay Zhao is an amazing writer and I cannot wait to read everything they ever publish. I am positive it will be amazing and delightful.
Also, an even darker, 18+rated version was mentioned and I would probably sell my soul to read even snippets of that.
