“This is why we are strong. We draw our strength from centuries and centuries of unforgotten injustices.” This quote encapsulates the heart of The Poppy War, story of resilience, vengeance, and the cost of power. This book was a masterful blend of historical fantasy, war and mythology. The story does not shy away the horrors of war so prepare yourself!

Tournament of Heirs was such a captivating read! I absolutely loved Metztli shes a strong, badass Hispanic female lead, and I could truly feel her unwavering loyalty to her brother throughout the story. The Aztec-inspired world was rich and immersive, giving Hunger Games and Wakanda Forever vibes with its high-stakes competition and deeply rooted culture. While it did take some time to get to the actual tournament, I felt the buildup was necessary to establish the characters and stakes. Overall, a fantastic read, and I cant wait for the next one!

This book had me hooked from start to finish with its unique mix of humor, violence, and undeniable tension between its main characters, Rowan and Sloane. Their dynamic was electric, and while the plot leaned into its dark themes, the banter and connection between them kept things engaging.

The audiobook version? Phenomenal. Rowans voice was absolutely sexy, and Im so glad I took the recommendation to listen rather than read. The narration brought an extra layer of intensity that made the story even more immersive.
