The title gives the ending away, but in such a way that you can't help but hope it's lying. The love story is compelling and heartbreaking. Would caution against reading if you're done with burying your gays, but it's done somehow beautifully

the pacing got slow and weird in the middle of the book, and it managed to be both obfuscating and predictable all at once. It was frustrating and the ending left me unsatisfied.
