this did not live up to the hype tbh ... it didn't suck, there were just cliche moments and predictable plot lines. i also thought Alina was a confusing character. i didn't always understand her motivations and she literally hopped from romantic interest to romantic interest without much thought, which i found unrealistic. however, the worldbuilding was interesting and diverse (again, apart from some cliches) and i think i will read the rest of the series.
