Ugh I had to dnf and I’m kind of sad about it. My brain just wasn’t up to the challenge of staying engaged through some of the dense and hard to follow sections. I might try again at a later date.

Honestly I was just looking for a fun, quick, smutty pallet cleaner and this was exactly that.

Celeste Ng has such a beautiful writing style. This book was so raw and emotional.

This book was SO different than I thought it would be. Reading from the POV of the killer was stomach churning and added a lot to the story. I’m not sure how I felt about this book to be honest, it was so hard to read some of the scenes but also I was taken aback by the language used here; it was so much more detailed and flowery than expected. Definitely thrilling and a wild ride.

This was so intriguing. I don’t really have comprehensive thoughts on it rn but I enjoyed it a lot.

This was a sweet and interesting book. I didn’t find the first 1/3 pretty slow and some of it felt a little repetitive but if you’re looking for a book that delves into the world of death, regrets, love, and loneliness then I would definitely give this a try.

Reading all three books back to back really heightened the experience. I felt SO invested and connected to the characters and when their world was crashing down it felt like mine was too. SO MANY questions are left unanswered at the end of this book and it’s actually a crime to have to wait so long for the next one. I loved all the little adventures and side quests in this book and getting to see the personalities of everyone and their dragons even more.
