In the Beginning Was Love: Psychoanalysis and Faith by Julia Kristeva
"The analyst today is in a position different from that of Freud. He is less scrupulously a rationalist, or perhaps one should say less guilty in the face of rationalism and still less optimistic about the beneficial powers of reason"
Very focused and penetrable. Insightful exploration of the role of the analyst, the nature of what he means to be alone in an Abrahamic belief system, along with other thing such as examining what the immaculate conception means in psychoanalysis
Kristeva also explores the nature of her own lack of belief and briefly touches on nihilism and what it means to be 'unanalyzable'
Very good read.
