a fun read, like all books from this series but I wasn't as surprised from the finale as I was with the other books, anyways still the twists and turns that we're used to. let's say it's a deep fry;)

heartbreaking. the cruel and sad face of reality breaking its point. i loved how real this story felt but still far away from life as today. even tho you can clearly see the mistakes from that period happening today as well, i was transported in that time and felt a soul crashing love and anger from it. cried, felt happy, relieved and angry all throughout it. never felt so familiar with a character but be almost nothing like it. that's what i loved the most about this book, it was beating like my heart is heard. oh, and all the detailed descriptions of nature and its beauty, that as well.

Cartea asta m-a surprins plăcut. ;)

loved this book! it's written in a way that you can follow along easily, especially if you have trouble reading more pages at a time, the way is structured into chapters it's perfect to not feel burnout from reading but to want to read more, also because it's so short of a book.
the only problem I had along is that while many introspective subjects are approached, the main character John, seems a bit dumb with its questions. I get why, but it was just very obvious for me and a bit tedious. overall, I really enjoyed this book and I'm left pondering some life aspects of mine because of it, even if the subjects seemed basic, I liked that because it felt like "the spark to lit up a fire" for me and my ideas and the fact that it didn't go into too much detail with every subject they approached and didn't tell you exactly what to do to achieve the exact thing they searched for, hold onto the idea of the book when they said that we shouldn't follow the exact narrative of someone's story just because we liked the way it went and write our own learning from the ones we heard.
definitely gonna reread it someday.

heart fukin breaking.
it's like I just read about my past, my present and my future. I was certain of my ideas with the unfairness women get in this society but it still took me by surprise with how bad Korea is at this.
I'm so sad and angry that all I read is normal for so many women to endure and go through without complaining because "that's just the way it is."
until now I kept my cool and didn't talked back when I overheard nonsenses from men, but I won't be silenced anymore by the thought of "overreacting" from their side. it's educating what I'd do, but they can't understand or accept that anyways. still, I'll speak.
a must read to wake you up from the numbness of suppression or to give a wake up call to the ignorants in comfort.

I didn't expected the story to start so strong with the romance part at the beginning:))) was a bit shocked in the first chapters ahahah
anyways, it was a nice relaxing read. it's nice to see that two people can love each other so much and keep their love throughout the years even tho it was quite a wacky, kinda weird process.
I could relate to the characters a lot and that brought comfort to me, except with the part where they're talking about suicide and depression, that triggered me, but also encouraged me in some type of way.
really felt like I was next to them all through reading the book.
the part with obeying tho, kinda annoyed me, but it's understandable in this situation let's say.
also, I love how the emotions of everyone from the book are emphasized and discovered to the public, especially for Connor. it was nice to see a man as a human for once.
I was continuously screaming at them tho because of the lack of communication they were having, it frustrated me to see how big the drama could get, just from not exchanging 2 words. I loved their love sometimes but I don't think I want to have something as such.
in the end, what I loved most about this book is how real and down to life it was, I could easily see something like this happen to someone in real life.

i liked this book. very refreshing and a perfect book to grab if you want a break from the day to day world and all its problems😅
it was very easy to imagine all the characters and even after I put the book down, I was thinking about them and giggling about what could happen next.
at the end, it made my heart feel at ease with the detailed epilogue and the closed ending but in the beginning I often felt angered with the life that the main character, Kate, had to live. it often triggered me with the misogyny and the disrespect of her family caused by their "she'll always be here" mentality... and the book is fully anchored in the old way of thinking (gende roles and all that) even if it often says otherwise in the book itself. I guess that makes it true to reality, because that's how life actually is after all.
also, something a bit weird I found to be is sometimes you're made aware that there's a narrator to the story by the way it's told, even tho through most of it you don't even realise it.

ok. just finished reading this book in one sitting and it took me on a real roller coaster. like... from the middle of the book I started to suspect on what kind of ending it could have and I felt like it was in me all along. I could feel it but couldn't touch it.
so it was so exciting and rushing when the timelines intersected, only then it started to make sense.
I love how it made me think of dozens of suspects and feel all the paranoia and fear with the characters...
one thing is sure tho, this book made me be sure of it again eh. all men are pigs.

a good book but not the type that I usually like to read. loved how well I could compare myself with the womanhood of Evelyn, even if she's so much beyond with everything, I loved how you could still compare yourself with her. sometimes I even forgot that there is a present time in the book besides her life, so it was a nice touch of reality when it happened. loved how that could make me grip the fact that I'm reading about someone "real" and see her as a person, not only a celebrity.
