This was absolutely beautiful. I love the way the past and present was differentiated by the muted vs vibrant color palettes.

This is the PERFECT book for reading to a classroom. It's great for having discussions about feelings and anger.

I am in love with Ruth Forman's illustration style. Her books are my go-to gift for baby showers.

The illustrations and typography are so creative! This was such a great disability story and the first time I've seen an amputee MC in a picture book. It's clear that he went through a traumatic experience in losing his leg (though not shown on the page) and his acceptance of it by the end works really well in context with that.
hopeful inspiring

I love the way the illustrations combine different art mediums. This was a great picture book about a Gullah Geechee family.

This was perfectly paced with a good balance between longer passages and short sentences. It shows how actions today can have a long lasting impact. It's great for readalouds and classroom discussion.
lighthearted

This was a lot of fun and had a great rhythm to it.
