Imbedded in this story is a reminder as warm as sunlight that we must enjoy what we have despite what the future holds. It's also incredibly charming, hilarious, joyful, and so intelligently written that I am desperate to see Siegel's outline to attempt to understand how meticulously she must've planned out this story to have had so much fun connecting the dots. Lyrical and captivating, this is the kind of book you reread multiple times, and smile to yourself all the way through.

"Sorry I'm late, I had to drop my cat off at her girlfriend's house."

WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW? This is so delightfully cute and queer. A one-sitting read to make you smile.

Early on it was abundantly clear to me that photography and memory were important themes to notice in this novel, but as it went on I realized those moments were speaking to a larger theme: impermanence. Brilliantly crafted, deeply relatable, and unapologetically queer, this book is yet another masterpiece in Malinda Lo's bibliography.
