when I first heard that Mark Oshiro was going to be riding this book with Rick riordan, I was both happy that a queer author was helping him write it, but also worried that it wouldn't have that classic Rick Riordan feel to the books. instead, I could see the impacts of Mark oshiro's riding in the book, but it did have a classic record and feel, and the plot was really really well put together. I think it explored will and Nico's relationship amazingly, and also subtly introduced a lot of different relationship dynamics that we don't typically see in mainstream books, especially once that have elements of romance. although I would love another story like this from Rick riordan, I think the story finished up really well and didn't have a lot of plot holes or left me wishing that there was a sequel, I think it worked really well as a standalone:)
