some stories were better than others but overall, definitely not a bad collection. a lot of the endings were just way too abrupt and I like when stories leave room for interpretation but why were these rooms the size of a hall? I don't want to interpret the whole story

this was not one of my favorites from The Horror World of Junji Ito. It had some good stories like Unbearable Labyrinth, The Will and especially, The Conversation Room which became one of my new favorites. I end up loving stories that take place in hospitals or wards of any kind. it reminded me a lot of Yami Shibai which is a series I've been following since 2016 or so. that being said, this also had some of the worst stories Junji Ito has ever written according to me. my least favorite from this volume was Blood-bubble Bushes which was the most boring, daunting story I've ever read for him. maybe I was just not in the mood while reading that one specifically but it seemed like he wasn't in the mood while writing it for me

I'd already read everything in this volume through his more modern collections featuring these older stories. I remember really enjoying Oshikiri's stories when I read them but the rest were just okay. his was one of the more original ones though and it took a more sci-fi, parallel dimensions turn but unlike Black Paradox that was almost more of a sci-fi than a horror.

this one was surprisingly really good!!! Town Without Streets felt like a whole fever dream and I really enjoyed it. the story was so original and complex. The Supernatural Transfer Student had one of my new favorite characters from Junji Ito which is Tsukano. he's so powerful but chill and friendly at the same time, we would definitely get along

the average volume to be fair. The Circus Is Here had a really good premise, I usually love things that take place in circus' but this one was a miss. there was barely any background information and the events just seemed to continuously occur. I find The Hikizuri Siblings kind of annoying so those were also not for me but Gravetown and The Adjacent Window were both really good.

these stories were really interesting!! the only one which I had read before was The Long Dream which is one of my all time favorites of him. The Bronze Statue and Drifting Pores were both really fun but the one that caught my eye and disturbed me the most was definitely Blood Sickness of The White Sands Village. the amount of blood in that chapter was unnerving. I cannot believe I finished all of these volumes in around 2-3 days. I feel sad having finished earlier than I meant to

one of his better collections. this is the last of Junji Ito I'll be reading for a while since I've read almost every horror story he has ever published and I'm glad I ended it with this one. the stories are short but memorable and unique. I think my favorite was Slumber, the final chapter in the volume because of how mysterious it was. we were left to guess the plot twist instead of having it told to us. I did need some more explanation at the end but reading that one was most enjoyable.
