In the beginning, it took me a while to get into it. But, as always with Leigh Bardugo, it really pulled through. I love the characters and the twists the story took. The ending shocked me, I didn’t expect her to go that route. I’m excited to find out how she continues the series!

Once I got past the first 100 pages or so I really loved it. The lore is very deep and we get trough the deeper layers of the past with the characters which was very enjoyable. I loved Ead very much, she really was what made me continue the book as the start didn’t really intrigued me. I would recommend this to everyone experienced with fantasy who wishes for more in-depth world building and likes more flowery language.

I was kind of underwhelmed by this book. I heard it was this interesting and maybe controversial book about teenagers with mental health struggles but it was tamer than expected. Sure they deal with a lot but the book fails to truly make me care about the characters like other books do. It wasn’t very thought provoking, just kind of sad and it seems pointless. Over all, you wouldn’t miss anything really great with not reading this book, except the post-it wall thing, I’m definitely stealing that idea for my own room.

One of my absolute favorite books ever. The characters are so unique and lovable. The found family trope is what got me hocked and now it’s a staple in the Books I read. I can not recommend this enough.
