5/5 to me this book was magnificent, i couldn’t put it down. When i wasn’t reading, i needed to find a way and sit down and read it. Im not used to crime/mystery/thrillers typically, but this one was a great introduction into the genre. The twists were unexpected and had literal tears near the end. So excited to read more from this author!

3.5/5 FINALLY. Is my only thought finishing this book. I have to admit that i grew tired of flipping through page after page. I liked the story, a lot, just felt that it couldve been minimized in a smaller book. We know how Stephen King is though. I like the characters and the initial build up was good, but i felt myself wanting more than what happened to “the outsider” the ending did have its fair share of “oh wows” but overall it was a let down to read 540 pages to finally know what happens...and it only lasted 2 pages at most. I enjoyed the book, it could have caught my attention more and been a little more creepy but overall it was a decent read.

5/5 because i love this book that much. Its an actual *chefs kiss* and im very eager to dive into the next one. The characters were well made and their personalities played well into the role they had in the story. The darkling? I mean even i wanted to jump in the book for a second with him! Alina? Such a strong main, she had fought to find herself her whole life and does that and so much more. Mal? I can just feel how dreamy and sweet he is... give me more. I couldnt stop reading when i was able to read. The story was surprising enough to keep my mind wanting more and quite frankly, i truly appreciate that in a YA.

Okay okay okay okay. In reality it only took me 5 days to read haha. I was in the middle of a serious move. We bought a house! So the moments i got to relax I finally snuck in a quick read. Boy did i love this one. Im not used to this kind of book, but it was done SO WELL. I loved the little journal entries at the end of every chapter. I loved how the book actually took me by surprise. Like it was an awesome read the entire time. I never felt bored or forced to read. I loved it!

Its taken me way too long to finish this one. But life gets busy. All i can say is , i want more. I want to see this battle unfold with darkness. I loved every page, i loved getting to the end of the book immediately wondering about what will happen next. Some parts of me want her to end up with the darkness, well most parts of me haha. What she did for henry is exactly what she always said. She loved henry, so she was able to set him free. I loved addie. This book will be heavy on my mind for weeks to come and i’m happy to keep it there.

5/5! So very happy I listened to the recommendations on this book. Im so proud of myself for beginning to read out of my comfort zone. I would love to read more books like this. It had heavy tones and light tones all at the same time and I love the feelings it stirred inside of me. I feel hopeful and happy.
