I think my hopes were too high for this book. It had a great premise but the characters were not developed that well.
I could not get into this book. I skimmed through it in the end. It reminded me of Shadow and Bones which a book that I found to be just ok.
This book had potential. The idea for the story was original. A girl has gone missing and her brother and two friends must search through the secrets of the community zoo to discover what happened to her.
However a lack of exploration on what a family is like when a child is missing made the story two dimensional. There was absolutely no parent involvement. The adults who are in the story are poorly written.
