Why do so many of her books have essentially the same plot???
Girl has no memory of childhood. Finds a hot man who doesn’t like her for some ✨mysterious✨ reason. SURPRISE they knew each other as children and he knows exactly who she is while she has no idea. It’s just so boring after a while especially when the whole fandom says her plots are so complex and creative lol.

This is the best Amo Jones book I’ve found so far (and it’s probably gonna be the last, but never say never ig)

This book felt like the author had a bunch of ideas (author x editor, childhood friends, etc.) and went what if we put them all together? And we got whatever tf this book is. It’s really messy and each element felt very separate and like it was being forced together. The “no kissing rule” felt very stupid considering they were having sex??? And also, crazy that a big aspect of this book is that he’s an editor when this book REALLY needed one.

Promising story, questionable execution

I feel like the characters had so much promise and depth to them, but that wasn’t explored. This whole world felt like there was so much more to be explore within this couples story but it was ignored. It was a shame because I felt like this story had sososo much potential to be really impactful but it fell short.

A good example of this phenomenon is Beat’s rape. I felt like it was handled poorly and not explored properly like it should have been. If you’re going to include rape within your plot I feel like as the author, you have a duty to give the proper space and time to that trauma but it felt shallow to me. Beat’s emotions after the initial incident felt raw and true to what it feels like. But in other chapters it would be like nothing happened and it felt like it wasn’t a priority of the author to give proper page time to the content.

*Edit: The more I think about this book the less I like it and the writing is just not that good.
