If you love Coraline, then this book is for you! Instead of another mother, you have The Halloween Queen and her trick-or-treater minions in an upside down dream world. This is a perfect Halloween book that will definitely set the mood for the season.

This was pretty fast paced but an excellent read. It definitely grabs you by your feelings and pulls you into a perfect painting of the afterlife. From the first page it grabbed my attention to where I could barely put this book down. It has drama, death, angels, family, and romance.

This was such a fast paced read that grabbed you and didn’t let go from the first page. Miguel Estrada knows how to write horror/thriller novels for sure. Story follows a couple of people through this nightmare. The moment it mentioned some black goo I knew this was going to turn into something great. The sacrifices, the turns this story makes, and how the characters draw you in more with their relationships is crazy!

I adored this version of Beauty and the Beast. From the characters names to how close it is to the original story line I was hooked. From battles, dragons, ghosts, and magic this book has it all. Definitely teaches you not to be so angry because you never know the outcome as well as never judge a book by its cover.

This is a youth book. No gore in the book but it can get creepy at times. The characters are a brother and sister visiting their grandmother for the summer. I love that the grandmother doesn’t believe in ghosts. She gets so upset that it’s almost comical. The ghost children act exactly how children will act. If you have a young reader, possibly 3rd grade and up, this would be perfect for them.

I couldn’t get into this book. I only finished because at 78% is when the story finally picked up. I love the multiple point of views but towards the end Barney just disappeared. There were ghosts and a killer. I feel like too much was happening and I couldn’t wrap my head around the nursing home, killer, ghosts, nazis, psychics, and police. The book didn’t end well but it is first in a series.

The detail added in this short book was actually great! I love reading about other point of views when it comes to fairytales. This story is in one of the step sisters, Anna, point of view.
