Take the title very, very literally before reading this book. It's truly just women taking. Nothing really happens. There's a lot of philosophical contemplation on God, feminism, obedience, pacifism, and it all feels pretty colorless and repetitive.

this really does have me crying in the club

The 1905 novel is equally as enchanting as the 1995 movie, I love love love it.

Closer to 3.5 stars! This book’s strong point is its characters - I loved them all, even the ones who were meant to be unlikeable. There was just SO much going on at all times that rarely was I fully tracking with the story. It was entertaining + action packed (which I love) but also a little confusing to follow.

If you love Jesus, this is a must read.
