I liked it but I feel like the ending was a bit rushed. I would’ve liked to see her parents and her friends reaction when she told them and how they moved forward/felt about it. We barely got to see how Caelin felt.
I lived the book and I loved how it kept me in my toes. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the ending. I didn’t like that the ending was so open ended. in the end of the book we don’t find out what happened to Sadie or where she is now. All we know is was we knew from the beginning, bc we read her POV, she knew Keith was the killer and was looking for him to kill him too. We find out that he was stabbed and died of sepsis from not getting the wound cleaned. We infer that bc Sadie was with him last and she was carrying a knife she killed him. But what pissed me off was we don’t know what happened to her. We know her and Keith got into it but we don’t know if she died or if she’s alive or where she is and that makes me mad. I thought the whole point of this was to find out where she went and why she left but we only find out why. That really sucks. I really wanted her to go home.
Ok I wanna say that even tho I really liked this book, it was kind of over hyped. I didn’t get to fall in love with X that much, I feel like we just didn’t get to see all his romantic capabilities. Even tho this was a romance book I feel like it was more centered around Evie believing in love than it was about the actually romance and the love she found. The ending was so sad I also didn’t like that she went to her dads wedding.
Wow. The reason I got this book was because I saw this bookmark that had an area where you could write your list of suspects and when I saw the book the bookmark lined up with I though, “let’s read this it looks fun”. And it was. I was pretty close with my list, I wrote down Carly bc I thought the guy that was in the truck with her and Jules was the murderer. I wrote down Ginny bc she was just super sketchy, the way she was so quick to make Monica think that Ethan was lying and how she wanted to be involved with every inch of the investigation. It just seemed like she was trying to be involved so that if anything led to her she could steer mon in the opposite direction. Then there was the whole thing with Mike and what he found in her dad. Over I really liked the book even tho the beginning was a little slow it kept me in my toes and I couldn’t put it down. I also felt so bad for Ethan. The fact that he finally got to be with the girl he’d been crushing in since they were kids and then she dies weeks later is heartbreaking. He lost his mom, the girl he liked, and had no place to live all around the same time. Jen really did deserve better
