This is the saddest, painful, harrowing tale I’ve ever read. Written with the purpose of simply telling one child’s story that will forever stay with me.

I felt for Tangy Mae with everything in me. I never once cursed her name. Or any of the other children. Raising children that are all being abused, manipulated, berated and deprived no matter their gender, age, or intelligence level. I felt the heaviness that every child had to bare. And I don’t blame any of them.

I will continue to be adamant that “honor thy mother and father” is a big detriment to the Black community, especially when that’s drilled into the heads of children with horrific parents. It leaves them confused.

Roselle Quinn was a horrible woman and mother. Pearl was not any better. No one in Pakersfield who knew the goings on was any good. And men are disgusting.
