The last time I read this series was 2020 so I don't remember much but I’m ready to finish the series now. I love Thomas 🥰🥰 definitely boyfriend material.

Elizabeth Zott is an incredible women. So passionate about her work (and although all she cared about was her work) once she had Mad in her life she did a great balance of both. Of being a scientist AND a mother. Zott stood a firming ground on why she didn’t want children, which I agreed with every single one, but once she had mad she decided to become a mom. Which goes to show that even if you’re dead set against something, things can change and that’s ok.

Six thirty wasn’t my favorite character in the beginning but then he ended up being one that I really liked. He was funny. I just didn’t understand why Bonnie would make him the main character but after listening to her interview at the end of the audiobook, it became clear why.

I will keep reading everything Mrs. Garmus writes. For this to be her debut novel, she did a fantastic job. I want her to write the book that inspired Lessons in Chemistry, which is set in the future and it’s from Mads life.

I loved Ethan. He was a dick almost towards the end but he redeemed himself.

I love the Hispanic family dynamic. Ringed so true coming from a Hispanic family myself. Everyone is always in your business but they are your biggest cheerleaders.

I like that Olive had an idea about what she wanted and it didn’t pan out but then something better came along.

She was deemed the one with the worst luck and then became good and then it went back to being shitty and then it went back to being good.

Characters: My favorites were Jace, Simon, Luke and Magnus Bane.  Can’t think of anything more to add.

World Building: it was an interesting take on having demons being able to see our world but we can’t see theirs. Idris sounds like a beautiful place so I’m excited to explore it in the following books.

Book Boyfriend? yes! Jace Wayland has my heart.

Spice: .🌶️ (just a cute kiss)

Story: I understand that I’m almost a decade and change late to the party but better late than never reading the series.

I think it didn’t need to be 485 pages but it was good none the less. I’ve heard her writing gets better with each story so I can’t wait to dive in.
