It's a very good children's book. Maybe I'm rating it too high because it's the last book from Tonke Dragt that she worked on before she passed away, but it's just very lovely and cute and wholesome. And it has pirates!

Getting Past Your Past: Take Control of Your Life with Self-Help Techniques from EMDR Therapy by Francine Shapiro

I hoped this would be a very good book, since I love the work the author did on developing EMDR, but this was not it. Many examples which would not be helped by just self help, and where EMDR was the almost magical solution. This book seems more like an advertisement for emdr therapy than an actual book that can help you.

It's cute!

I do feel there are some holes in the story that could be worked out more and the pacing seems a bit off. But all in all I quite like it.
