Liked first one way more, it was more cohesive
The Wildes by Louis Bayard
3.75
The Wildes was funny and really fleshed out the hypocrisy of English society. I didn’t know a ton about Oscar Wilde, and this historical fiction gives great context about his life.
I liked the insight into his children’s lives as well as his wife’s difficulty to move on after he’s imprisoned. The writing was quippy and I appreciated the structure of the chapters taking place decades apart.
Great on audio too

Weird but not an enjoyable or immersive weird. Narrator was dry on audio and the stories within stories bothered me. Could have done without the penis skin peeling.
