I was slightly apprehensive going into this book since it was a historical romance. I was pleasantly surprised though when I actually really enjoyed it.

Even though this was a quick read, it did take my awhile to read because of the fact that I never really connected to any of the characters until the last 50 pages of the book.

We follow Gracie, and sometimes Penny, and Charlie from 1938 till 1942. While there is some switching between POV of the characters there wasn't enough to get really attached to any of them besides Gracie. I would occasionally feel bad for Charlie because of all of the things he was dealing with, but a lot of the time I was just annoyed with him. I never really connected with Penny but I think that might be because of the fact that we never really got to know her much.

I really liked how Gracie went about helping with the war effort though and how she wouldn't just let her parents make those choices for her. The last couple of pages of the book though really through me for a loop/ It didn't really seem to go with everything else that she had been doing up until that point and I was hoping she would have stayed on with the WAAF until after the war since they were always talking about their not being enough people.

The only real disappointment I had with this book was the fact that it glazed over a lot of topics or just briefly mentioned them but never really went into them.

While I did really enjoy this book. I didn't like the insta-love, I got why it happened but still wish it wouldn't have.

Now onto the good part. I really enjoyed the mystery and how you could never figure it out until the very end pretty much. While I did have my suspicions on who the whistle blower was, I was not expecting it to be who it was.

I liked how pretty much up until the end Morgan didn't trust Evan that much and that she didn't just fully trust him right off the bat because he looked exactly like Flynn.

What I loved the most though was Morgan and Toni's friendship. I liked how even though they both had love interests going on in the end they always stuck together mostly. I was slightly worried that once Evan came into the picture Toni was going to be out of it. But thankfully that never happened.

All in all this was a enjoyable quick read.

"We were all afraid of the thing in front of us, and the reality of who we were fell on me all at once. None of us were fearless— we were four people too young to be doing this."

Simply put this book was everything I hoped for and more. So many questions got answered and so many things happened. I think this might be my favorite book of the series so far. I cant believe we have to wait over a year for the next one. I need the next one NOW!!

Going into this book it sounded amazing, but that quickly changed. Now I will give the authors this it was a whole new type of dystopian (at least for me this was).

I think the main problem I had with this book was that it tried to describe everything, and it just got to be way too much. Another problem was, was that I never connected to any of the characters. Unless you count hating every single one of them for being completely stupid.

While I didn't hate the ending it wasn't exactly what I hoped to happen especially since I wont be finishing the rest of the series.

All in all if you're a teenage guy you'll probably really like this especially if you're still in high school.

I am so happy I finally picked up this book. As a child the movie adaption was the only princess movie I actually liked/ would watch at all.

While there was a lot of differences between the two, I still enjoyed both even though it was slightly confusing at times. The one thing I didn’t like about the book though was that she hardly included Becky into her world. The only time she included her at all really was towards the end.

It was nice to see though that she did struggle with being good when she lost her riches and it wasn’t as easy to be nice and kind all of the time like she thought it was.

That ending though.. I liked the movie version of it better. The book ending was still nice and happy it just wasn’t what I was expecting.

I had a like/hate relationship with this book. I say like because im not in love with this story. The only reason I kept reading it was do to the mystery element.

I hated the insta-love and the main guy protagonist. But even more then that I hated how Mara just let him get away with it after a while of knowing him. She stopped caring that he was a guy that did whatever he wanted and got away with it for the most part and she fell for him. Now im not saying I wont grow to like them as a couple I just think it happened way to fast, and there our bigger things going on that need handling.

Now the part of this book that I did like was the fact that Mara had no clue what was happening to her or how to make it stop or control it. I also really enjoyed the mystery of it all, and that ending oh my.. That is the only thing keeping me reading this series. I have to know if what she saw was another hallucination or real life.

After having a lot of up and downs with the first book in this series I wasn't sure if I would want to continue with it. I am so glad I did though. This book was everything I hoped the first one to be. It was creepy, and gave us insight on possibly why she has this power. It also showed us that she wasn't alone in it and there is a lot more people with it then I ever expected it to be.

While their still was some romance elements they were drastically cut back thankfully and it was more about Mara, and what is happening to her, and who is doing certain things to her.

That doctor has to go though. Something very fishy is going on there and I don't like it all.

Now on to the third book and I hope it doesn't leave me feeling like the first one did.

This is a such a fun series to read.

With each book I fall more in love with the characters and the shenanigans they get themselves into. I am so happy to see that the love triangle is ending or at least it appears to be.

But that ending why would you do that to me? How are we suppose to wait until November to find oh what happens next?!

While I didn't hate this book as much as the others. I still had a lot of problems with it. But first lets go with what I liked.

I liked that we learned so much about how a lot of it happened somewhat and that they weren't the first people to have it.
I liked Stella and Mara's "friendship" and how Stella wouldn't always go with whatever she said.

Now what I didn't like was that almost everyone just went with whatever Mara said even though she was always the most clueless. All she ever cared about was Noah. She didn't care about trying to figure out what type of damage her ability could do, or what everyone else could do. She didn't even care about the experiments done one other people that Kell's did. All she ever cared or wanted was Noah and while some people might think that was super romantic I found it to be rather pointless in this situation.

Also if Noah's dad didn't want them to ever be together then why did he make certain things happen that would bring them together. Why did he leave Noah there alone with Mara, if he really didn't want them together shouldn't he have forced Noah to leave with him.

What was Lukumi problem throughout the whole thing and why didn't he talk to them all in person and try to explain better why he did certain things. I got that he had tried to change certain things through his letter he wrote to Mara but still he should have known better then to make certain other things happen or try to control them.

Where the last 20 pages even really needed? I didn't care about that, we knew what choice they would make because they had made it before and will continue to make it until they do eventually die.
