Spoiler This book made me very emotional, and I think spoke a lot to suburbia and family ideals and expectations. I was really worried that there wouldn't be any growth or change, but then ending left me somewhat hopeful, and made up for a lot of the bleakness in the beginning. That said, for me I think it overall represents a life that really scares me. Not a bad book, but not my favorite. Not sure how to give a star rating.

I gotta be honest, I'm sure this is a fine book, but the shitting British accent for Welsh people??? Made it unlistenable.

I think this book has a lot to say, but the length and also the fact that it is now 10 years out of date is making it hard to get through. I want to return to it at some point though.
