Once I got into this book, I really enjoyed it. Melilot grew on me as I progressed further in the book. This book started very slowly for me and I struggled with all of the fairy tale references. My brain kept wanting this book to be a retelling of something I know and it's not! The fact that it is not a retelling is what makes this book enjoyable!

Once I was able to move past that block, I could appreciate the references to other fairy tales.

The cast of characters were witty and fun! I did not expect the villain and that was a fun twist!

This book releases June 17, 2025. If you like fairy tales and are looking for a twist, read this book!

I love a romance suspense in a small town! This book had a great found family! Also, I love a fake-dating trope and I love how this one was done.

This was my first Clio Evans book and I'm going to need to read the first two in this series!

There is something about a sports romance that I just love! This one adds to the ever growing list of sports romances that I will rave about!

This book was so cute! At times, I was so giddy over Kian and Harper. These characters were so well-rounded. The decisions they made and the thoughts they had perfectly matched with their backgrounds!

I loved how both of these characters grew individually and together! The only plot point that I wanted out of this book and didn't get was a confrontation with Kian's father. Otherwise, I enjoyed this book a lot and will be recommending it!

This book was delightful! I struggle with classifying the subgenre of mystery books but I think this would classify as cozy! If you like books like Finlay Donovan is Killing it and Arsenic and Adobo, you will love this book!

I identified with Kasey more than I expected as I also went to law school, lived in the DC area, and have family/friends that keep things from me because it's not my job to worry about them! Except I'm going to worry anyway, just like Kasey!

The cast of characters are funny and engaging! The romance was adorable! And the villains were easy to dislike! I highly recommend this book!
