I think this was my least favourite book of the year. I'm on the border of rating it 1 star but the writing was really ~nice~. It was whimsical for sure.

I found the first 100 pages to be quite dull and hard to get into. When I reached part 4 (I think 4?), Addie meets Henry and I found the book to get a little more interesting. I enjoyed reading about their relationship during the middle third of the book. When the *twist* happens, it was all downhill from there. It became painfully repetitive and took me 3 weeks to read the last 100 or so pages because I was so bored with it. Likely would have DNF'd however I bought into the hype and purchased this book new.

All in all, would only recommend if you are having fun reading and want to put yourself into a reading slump. I don't think I'll be reading any more of V.E. Schwab's books.
