Charlotte's life hasn't turned out how she planned all thanks to some poor choices in college that led her to drop out and disappoint her parents. To make things up to them, she agreed to follow all their rules, which include her cleaning the kitchen at her dad's work. Things get worse when she's forced to take on Noah, her one night stand, as a client. They're supposed to keep things professional since she works for him, but that changes when she asks him to be her friend with benefits. To make matters worse, Noah isn't just her one night stand turned friend with benefits, he's also her dad's employee.
I'm a big fan of this series, and I was excited for another book, however, this was a bit of a flop for me. This is probably my least favorite book in the series.
I liked the spicy scenes. Nikki writes great scenes that are descriptive and scorching hot. I also loved getting cameos from most of the other couples in the series, especially my favorite couple from The Architect. I liked Charlotte's growth and thought her career choice at the end was different.
My biggest issue was this book was boring. The story had potential, but it fell flat. Noah and Charlotte really didn't have any chemistry outside of the bedroom. They are definitely in different stages of their life and I couldn't see them being together past the epilogue. Noah reminds me of a lot of men in the real world and he didn't really feel like he was that into Charlotte. I didn't care for the break up and felt it didn't do much for the story.
I will say I didn't mind the sharing scene. That doesn't bother me because the characters were both into it and consenting.
Thank you to Nikki Sloane and Valentine PR for the early copy!
