Where do I start?

The vibe of the book wasn't vibing with me. I didn't feel any connection with the main characters. It felt so empty, no chemistry.
I mean I am an Indian myself, I should feel the connection, right? But no, maybe because of certain things which I am not aware of even myself.

In India, relationship progress really slowly (atleast I think so, I mean I have never came across anyone who is into one night stand or hooking up or maybe because I am very introvert person). So I went in the book with that mindset but when I first read

I want to touch you.

in chapter 4, I was taken aback. I wouldn't have mind if her intention was that from the beginning when she talked to him. I thought maybe it's a fast progress book. I kept reading but this book . . . . not for me. The foundation of the relationship matters. The connection between the main characters felt very weak. I wouldn't care if they end up with each other or not.

I am a sucker for slow burn, emotional intimacy more than physical intimacy. I prefer emotional bonding, strong connection, trust between the characters than physical bonding. Some grovelling too, I mean who doesn't love that. I couldn't find any of these.

I cringed so hard at the "Desi fuckboy". Sighs... and who the fuck name their penis "Charlie"? I mean you are a doctor! Atleast I thought you would be used to with the anatomy terms.

Also, the writing didn't meet my expectation.

I don't know what I was expecting with the book, I can't describe what I am feeling.

Since I am an Indian myself, i understand the culture and the meaning of the female character's relationship with her families. I would say, not every family is as shitty as Kareena's family. At least not mine, I am grateful for that.

As a conclusion, this book wasn't for me but it might be for you.

chef's kiss

It physically pained me to finish this book. This was not what I expected. This is the book which shows the desolate, cold and bleak part of life. Thats the vibe I got. And I am not a fan of this vibe. This book doesn't have warmth. And I read books for it to give me warmth.

I tried to like this book, really trust me. I really tried but I couldn't stand it anymore so I had to skim through most of it, reading only the important part. Seriously if, there wasn't so much repetition, then this wouldn't have been so boring and it would be pretty short book. This book is filled with unnecessary poetic description of simple things. Now, I understand the author is trying to write in a poetic way, and she did it but she overdosed a little. She could have just said she flustered instead she goes ahead and says that she is dripping red painting on the floor. And there's many more like this.

This is completely subjective. You might like this book but I think you should know what you are getting yourself into before diving deep into it and getting disappointed -

- If you think you will get to see Warnette, then you are completely wrong. This book will give you Adam and not Warner.
