Father Cade Frederic is viewed as a righteous and holy man, but lurking beneath is a monster he struggles to tame. The depraved voice inside of his head, tells him that he needs to rid the world of evil. 

Amaya Paquette is young woman struggling to make ends meet in her small town. She cares for her younger brother after they were both abandoned by their mother and ostracized by the town. She transforms into the dancer Esmeralda for work and catches the eye of Father Cade. He becomes utterly obsessed with her.  He comes to a crossroads and can’t decide if he wants to eradicate Amaya for being a temptress sinner or if he wants to make her his.

Thoughts (minor spoilers ahead):

First off I want to say that I really did enjoy this story. The tension, the slow burn romance, and mutual pining had me in a chokehold!!! Scarred has been my favorite in the series so far, but Crossed would be a runner up. 

Here is my only negative: I felt that there was a little too much back and forth that the romance itself almost felt like it was lacking. I’m not sure if it was too much inner monologue or repetition, but I felt like there weren’t enough interactions with Cade and Amaya for me to really feel the love? 

I was still really invested in the story and this has to be the darkest book in the Never After series thus far. With that being said, MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING FOR THE END OF CHAPTER 46. It’s the last page in the chapter and it can definitely be skipped if you are sensitive to SA on page. You can skip this and still know what’s going on within the next few chapters. Remember to protect yourself and your mental health :) Emily does have TWs listed, but I wanted to throw this out there since it caught me off guard since Hooked, Scarred, Twisted, and Wretched weren’t too dark to me!

Looking for Alaska by John Green

Is it safe to say that I am absolutely, head over heels in love with John Green's writing? He writes for the youth , maybe that's why the adults can't relate as much us mad driven teens.

I praise him. He does the best in shocking me with a plot twist in the middle of the story, and I know I just have to read on. Looking for Alaska will make you laugh, relate, reflect, and maybe even cry. I give it a thumbs up. I love you John green.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

I'm not going to lie, I cried. Though, I was actually quite disappointed in this book. I couldn't help but notice (please forgive me for saying this) that this a vaguely similar to Twilight. Only this was just the werewolf version. Grace and Bella are so similar also, they are very mellow and honestly...boring? I'm sorry to say. However, i do always enjoy a good love story and this book is good if you are into the Twilight Saga.

Trust is a big thing in our world. Trust is more perplexed than love, once it is broken, it's broken. Love can always be rekindled however trust will take a little more to be gained again.

This book is about trusting. Can Danica trust Zane? Does Zane trust Danica? Can they both trust each other to end this war between their people; the hawks and the snakes? You'll have to read to find out. Take my word of advice and READ THIS BOOK. It's to die for.

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen

Sarah Dessen writes books teens can relate to, it's why I love her writing so much. Along for the ride is probably top five of my books-to-recommend list.

I honestly was a bit scared on wanting to read this because I tend to become bored easily. However...I don't know what I ever had to fear. This books was amazing and insightful.

Avalon High by Meg Cabot

I'll admit, when my Librarian recommended this for me I was a bit hesitant since this was out of my usual genre. Though, what can I say? I gave it a try and ended up loving it! It is so creative to give the Arthurian legend a modern twist. It may be lacking but it is worth reading!

The best new thing since The Hunger Games. Beatrice(Tris) is learning herself and how cruel society is. Obviously we know there is going to be rebellion, love, and intense action packed chapters. Just read and let this book take you to a whole new world in the futuristic Chicago.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

This book is too damn amazing for words. Like TIME magazine said...it is "Damn near genius."

My praise for this book, are words I cannot fathom.(HAR-DI-HAR). Every part of this book is so entertaining and not to mention hilarious. The voice of Hazel is so witty and amazing, you don't find people like that often. Augustus waters : is it possible to fall in love with a fictional character? Hazel Grace and Gus is like putting two-and-two together ; they fit perfectly.

You'll laugh, you'll even shed a tear. John green never ceases to amaze me.

Okay I'm going to admit that the beginning of this book was utterly boring. It had a slow start, but a lot of books do. But I trust you, as soon as you are introduced to Ky, then the book gets super interesting.
